Aug 28: The roar around The Vvaan is getting harder to ignore. The teaser of Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia-starrer has crossed 40 million views, turning the first glimpse of Balaji Motion Pictures’ ambitious folklore fantasy into an early milestone.

The Vvaan teaser roars past 40 million views, putting Bollywood’s new folklore fantasy on everyone's radar

What makes the number interesting is what the teaser is selling. It not a familiar franchise, remake or established fantasy property, but an entirely new world. In a commercial Hindi-film landscape where audiences are increasingly surrounded by recognisable IP, The Vvaan is attempting to build curiosity around an original folklore universe rooted in Indian beliefs, mystery and the supernatural.

The teaser's response also gives an early indication that its combination of scale and mystery is connecting. Rather than spelling out the story, it drops audiences into a world of forbidden forests, ancient forces and unsettling questions, with Sidharth and Tamannaah at the centre of the mystery. The fresh pairing adds to the intrigue, while the striking visual language and atmospheric music give the teaser a distinctly theatrical feel.

The 40-million-plus mark comes with the film still weeks away from release, giving the makers a sizeable head start as they build anticipation for its September 25 theatrical arrival.

At 40 million views and counting, the message from the audience seems clear - They've heard the roar. Now they want to know what's inside Vvaan.

Backed by some of the country's most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that attempts to take Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand as DOP and Visual Director, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

The Vvaan arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, promising a big-screen fantasy folklore experience where the visuals, music, mystery and scale come together to create a world audiences will want to step into.
