Sidharth Malhotra Enters Vvaan: What Awaits Him in the Forbidden Forest

Aug 28: The lingering thought after the teaser of Vvan is that Sidharth Malhotra isn't simply entering a story that already exists, but possibly his arrival is where the next chapter of that story begins?

Sidharth Malhotra Enters Vvaan, But What Will The Forbidden Forest Do To Him?

That makes The Vvaan particularly intriguing. The teaser doesn't present the forest as a place with a supernatural secret waiting to be uncovered. Instead, everything about it suggests an old legend that has survived through generations -- a forbidden space, warnings passed down, mysterious disappearances and forces that appear to operate by rules of their own.

And then Sidharth's character arrives. The interesting part is that the teaser doesn't give him the typical “chosen one” introduction. He appears to be an ordinary man stepping into something far older and far larger than himself. But once he crosses into Vvaan, the film's mythology seems to come alive around him. The strange energy of the forest, the supernatural force that protects it, the increasingly surreal events that surround him, all suggest that his coming might have repercussions that reach far beyond his own story.

Which gives rise to an interesting theory that Vvaan has always created its legends. The stories of those who entered and never returned could be more than warnings. They could be fragments of a much older history - stories of people who crossed the boundary, encountered the force within and became part of the folklore themselves. If so, Sidharth's character could be the newest name added to that chain.

It would also explain why the film seems interested in the tension between what people believe about Vvaan and what actually happens inside it. Folklore is often built this way - an event happens, a community remembers it, the memory becomes a warning, and eventually the warning becomes a legend.

Vvaan appears to be taking that idea and turning it into a large-scale fantasy adventure.

There is another intriguing facet. Sidharth's journey doesn't remain confined to the forest. His encounter with Vvaan appears to have repercussions for Tamannaah Bhatia's character too, suggesting that his crossing of the boundary could be the moment an old mythology begins affecting the present.

So perhaps the film isn't asking us to watch Sidharth discover the legend of Vvaan. Perhaps we're watching him become part of it.

And if that's the case, the real question is: when people tell the story of Vvaan years from now, will Sidharth's character be remembered as the man who entered the forest or the man who changed its legend forever? The answers lie in the movie.

Backed by some of the country's most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that attempts to take Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand as DOP and Visual Director, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

The Vvaan arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, promising a big-screen fantasy folklore experience where the visuals, music, mystery and scale come together to create a world audiences will want to step into.
