Aug 28: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, singer Dhvani Bhanushali is celebrating the special bond she shares with her sister Dia Bhanushali. While sibling relationships are often a mix of love, laughter and the occasional argument, for Dhvani and Dia, their equation is filled with countless moments of madness, comfort and togetherness.
Talking about how their relationship has evolved over the years, Dhvani shares that despite growing up, the two continue to be “little girls at heart.” She says, “We are still little girls at heart; so, our relationship continues to be like that. It is absolutely mad how much fun we have together we do all sorts of silly, crazy things around the house. If you were to put a camera in our home when we are together, it would be a complete riot.”
Despite her busy schedule, Dhvani makes it a point to stay connected with her sister and finds comfort in spending quality time with her whenever she gets a break. Sharing how they make the most of their time together, she says,
“Whenever I have a day off, I love spending time with her, and we watch films together. No matter what happens, I make sure I see her face every single day.”
However, like every sibling relationship, their bond also comes with its fair share of disagreements. Dhvani admits that their fights can get quite intense, often requiring their parents to step in. She says, “When we disagree, we have massive fights. Our parents typically have to step in to break it up. Afterwards, I am usually the one to apologise first.”
Interestingly, Dia has her own unique way of making peace after a disagreement. Dhvani reveals,
“My sister is big on memes and GIFs, so on the rare occasions when she makes the first move, she uses those to break the ice.”
From being each other’s partners in crime to making up after massive fights with memes and GIFs, Dhvani and Dia’s relationship beautifully captures the many shades of sisterhood. This Raksha Bandhan, their bond stands as a reminder that growing up may change many things, but some sibling equations remain wonderfully unchanged.
